Youth Advocates for Hamzat Declare Support for Olowu in Ibeju-Lekki

The Youth Advocates for Hamzat has paid a courtesy visit to Hon. (Engr.) Abiola Okanlawon Olowu, OKL, FNSE, at his campaign office within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Oribanwa, Ibeju-Lekki.

Epe Insights reports that the delegation, led by the group’s convener, Alhaji Sonaike Omotola, visited the party secretariat to identify with Olowu and express support for his candidacy for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The visit brought members of the youth political group to the APC secretariat, which serves as a gathering point for party activities in the local government area.

Speaking during the visit, Omotola described Olowu as an engineer, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), a committed party member and a grassroots mobiliser.

He said the group believed in Olowu’s candidacy and wanted to publicly communicate its support for his political aspiration.

Omotola explained that Youth Advocates for Hamzat draws inspiration from the leadership ideals of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.

He added that the group was committed to supporting progressive candidates, including Olowu, as political activities continue ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The convener also highlighted the significance of holding the visit at the APC Secretariat in Oribanwa, describing the location as an important centre for party activities in Ibeju-Lekki.

In his response, Olowu thanked the delegation for visiting his campaign office and appreciating his candidacy. He acknowledged the group’s decision to engage with him and express its position.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the group and the aspirant to interact within the local APC political structure.

Youth groups play a role in political engagement through community outreach, mobilisation and participation in party activities. Their involvement also provides a platform for younger members to communicate their interests and engage with political aspirants.

The visit adds to the political activities surrounding Olowu’s aspiration to represent Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

As the election approaches, residents will have the opportunity to assess candidates’ records, proposals and positions on issues affecting the constituency, including infrastructure, education, youth development and community welfare.
