Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a resilient and forward-thinking Lagos through visionary leadership, culture, and innovation, anchored on the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda.
EpeInsights reports that the Governor said this at the 2025 Leadership Summit of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA), themed “Transformative Leadership: Development-Responsive, Adaptive and Inclusive Models”.
The Governor emphasized the importance of sustaining the legacies of past leaders while driving innovation for the future.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who featured in a fireside chat titled “From Leadership to Legacy: Designing Systems That Work Without You,” encouraged Nigerians, especially the youth, to prioritize education and excellence in all their pursuits.

He advised them to seize opportunities, remain loyal, surround themselves with knowledgeable people, and avoid falling for misinformation on social media.
Former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, also delivered a goodwill message, urging citizens to shun divisive tendencies and embrace unity and inclusion in leadership and national discourse.
In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, praised Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision and continued support for the academy.
She noted that 60 fellows have graduated from the programme, with 30 more currently undergoing training.
The summit drew attendance from cabinet members, traditional rulers—including the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and the Oniru of Iru-land, Oba Gbolahan Lawal—as well as development partners and leadership experts.
Highlights of the event included roundtable discussions and a debate by LJLA fellows on the topic: “Strong Institutions or Strong Leaders: What Drives Sustainable Development?”
