Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday welcomed Ayelabola Ololade, the newly crowned Guinness World Record holder for the longest distance walked on a catwalk by a model, at the Lagos House in Marina.
EpeInsights gathered that Ololade achieved a remarkable feat by walking 125.11 kilometers on a catwalk, setting a new world record that has captured international attention and brought pride to Nigeria.
During the courtesy visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Ololade for her determination, discipline, and resilience, describing her as a shining example of what Nigerian youth can accomplish through focus and hard work.
“You have made Lagos and Nigeria proud on the global stage,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“Your achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a powerful message to young people across our state and nation—that with vision and perseverance, greatness is within reach.”
Also present at the event were key members of the state executive council, including the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende; Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso; and Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe.
Ololade expressed gratitude to the governor for the warm reception, stating that her journey was inspired by a desire to challenge herself and spotlight Nigeria’s creative and modeling talent on a global platform.
Her accomplishment is expected to further inspire the fashion and modeling industry in Nigeria, while reinforcing Lagos State’s position as a hub of youth innovation and cultural excellence.
The visit ended with group photographs and an assurance from the governor that the state will continue to support and celebrate outstanding achievements by its citizens.
