As the world marked World Teachers’ Day 2025, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has hailed teachers for their invaluable contributions to nation-building, describing them as “unsung heroes of progress whose impact resonates across generations.”
EpeInsights reports that in a statement issued to commemorate the annual event, Princess Animashaun said teachers remain the foundation upon which every visionary leader, innovator and professional is built.
She noted that their dedication, patience, and resilience continue to shape lives and sustain the growth of society.
“Teachers are the silent achievers, the unseen builders of dreams and the torchbearers of enlightenment whose dedication fuels the progress of nations,” she said.
“At Epe Local Government, we recognize that no nation can rise above the quality of its teachers. That is why my administration remains steadfast in ensuring that educators are valued, supported, and celebrated.”
Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” the council boss underscored the importance of partnerships, shared growth, and collective excellence in improving the teaching profession.
She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to strengthening education in Epe through strategic investment, improved welfare packages for teachers, and inclusive policies that amplify their voices within the local education system.
“As we celebrate this special day, I salute every teacher across Epe, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large for your resilience, patience, and unyielding commitment to building a sustainable future,” Princess Animashaun added.
World Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on October 5 to honour educators worldwide and to highlight their crucial role in advancing knowledge, innovation, and human development.
