Preparations are in top gear for the annual Eribi Festival of Odo Ayandelu Kingdom, a time-honored celebration of cultural heritage, unity, and spiritual significance in the heart of Lagos State.
EpeInsights reports that the festival which will be carried out under the revered leadership of the Paramount Ruler of Odo Ayandelu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Asunmo Ganiu Aderibigbe, will be held on Sunday, April 20, with important traditional rites taking place the night before.
Balogun Eleluku of Odo Ayandelu, Chief Olusoga Afeez Afolorunsho, who made the announcement, noted that the ancient town is set to host the 2025 edition of the Eribi Festival—a sacred cultural celebration deeply rooted in tradition and communal identity.
As part of the customary observance, there will be a restriction of movement on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to allow for sacred rites to be performed in peace and respect for tradition.
Chief Afolorunsho extended warm greetings to all chiefs and traditional title holders who play vital roles in the festival, including Olumale Eluku, Jagun Eluku, Iware Eluku, Okirikiri Eluku, Alase Agba Eluku, and Olisa of Ayandelu and all the male chiefs as well as Iyalode of Ayandelu and the female chiefs for their continued contributions to the cultural legacy of the kingdom.
Special recognition was also given to neighboring royal fathers such as Oba Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija, Oba of Ota-Ikosi, Oba of Agbowa, and Oba Gbadamosi of Araromi Oguntimehin Kingdom, among others, for their ongoing support and inter-communal cooperation.
The Baales of various surrounding communities, including Baale Ade-Osho, Baale Ateere, Baale Lago, Baale Etunrenren, Baale Owode, Baale Agbangba, and Baale Iganke, were equally acknowledged and appreciated.
Chief Afolorunsho also conveyed warm regards to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Wale Raji Alomo, for his leadership and support.
As the date draws near, the people of Odo Ayandelu look forward to a colorful and spiritually significant festival that reaffirms their identity and fosters communal pride.
