Stakeholders in Lagos State’s micro, small and medium enterprise sector converged in Epe for a capacity-building engagement focused on tax culture, financial accountability, and sustainable business growth.
Epe Insights reports that the forum, titled Building a Vibrant Tax Culture and Financial Accountability for Sustainable Growth, was held at the Lagos Theatre, Epe.
The programme was organised by the Financial Literacy and Accountability Initiative in collaboration with ATM Investment Limited, aligning discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing tax reform agenda.
Permanent Secretaries Mr Semiu Kadri of the Office of the Chief of Staff and Mrs Alaka Titilope of the Office of Internal Audit, Lagos State, served as principal sponsors of the initiative.

They described the engagement as a vital intervention for MSME survival, trust-building, and shared responsibility between government and entrepreneurs.
The sponsors explained that improved understanding of tax policies would help businesses adapt confidently to reforms and enhance voluntary compliance.
Chairman of the Day, Prof. Nosiru Onibon, expressed concern over declining interest in craftsmanship, stressing that MSMEs remain the backbone of national development.

Convener of the programme, Balogun Sobur, said the initiative was designed to correct misinformation on tax reforms and promote disciplined financial management.
