Hon. Olowa highlighted the dangers associated with measles and rubella, describing measles as one of the most contagious viral diseases, capable of causing severe complications such as pneumonia, brain damage, blindness, and death. He added that rubella, though often mild in children, poses serious risks to pregnant women, including miscarriage, stillbirth, and congenital defects.

He assured residents that the Measles–Rubella vaccine is safe, effective, and globally proven, stressing that high vaccination coverage protects not only individuals but entire communities through herd immunity.
