The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE) has held a follow-up stakeholders’ meeting to strengthen the rollout of the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine across the council area.
The meeting, held at the Council’s Conference Room, followed the recent statewide flag-off of the MR Vaccine Introduction in Lagos State and brought together frontline health workers and key community stakeholders.
Epe Insights reports that participants included traditional rulers, chiefs, party leaders, youth leaders, and representatives of various communities within Lekki LCDA, reflecting a broad-based approach to public health mobilisation.
Discussions at the meeting focused on ensuring the smooth and effective administration of the vaccine, with emphasis on community sensitisation, cooperation with health officials, and proper mobilisation of parents and guardians.
Health workers present explained the vaccination procedures, safety measures, and eligibility criteria, while also addressing questions and concerns raised by community representatives to dispel misinformation and build trust.
Engr. Kasali reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of children in Lekki LCDA, stressing that strong collaboration between the council, health professionals, and community leaders is critical to the success of the campaign.
The meeting underscored the LCDA’s proactive stance in supporting state health initiatives and ensuring that no eligible child is left behind in the Measles-Rubella vaccination exercise.
