The Lagos State Government, through the Centre for Rural Development (CERUD), has equipped youths and farmers in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA) with essential skills in fish production and management.

A one-day intensive training, recently held at the Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), highlighted Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to the socioeconomic development of the state’s youth and ensuring affordable food for all residents.

In his welcome address, Director of CERUD, Mr. Musibau Balogun, emphasized the government’s focus on empowering young people across Lagos State.

He cautioned the beneficiaries against selling the provided empowerment materials, urging them to use the opportunity to build self-reliance and improve their socio-economic standing.

Mr. Balogun also assured participants of CERUD’s continued support for those who demonstrate a strong commitment to success through the training.

Council Manager of Mosan Okunola LCDA, Mrs. Abiola Apatira-Aderinokun, praised the initiative, noting its positive impact on the development of human capital in Alimosho LGA.

She urged beneficiaries to leverage the opportunity to enhance their livelihoods and contribute to Lagos State’s growth.

The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the State Government and CERUD, vowing to put the empowerment materials to good use.

The training covered key areas such as hatchery operations, fish production and management, processing, packaging, and marketing strategies.

Participants also received vital resources to support their ventures, including fish feeds, fingerlings, plastic fish tanks and smoking kilns.
