The Chairman, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu, has carried out an unscheduled visit to several state primary schools on Monday, the official resumption day for the new academic term.

EpeInsights reports that Dr. Shittu who was joined by senior officials of the Board, toured primary schools across various local government areas, including key institutions within the Ikeja Local Government Education Authority.

Among the schools visited were Military Cantonment Primary School, Military Primary School, Army Children School, Army Barracks, Army Model School, Nine Brigade Primary School, and Brigade Primary School, all located within the Ikeja Cantonment.

The surprise visits were designed to assess the schools’ preparedness for the new term, monitor pupil turnout, inspect infrastructural facilities, and promote accountability among educators and administrators.

“We must continue to uphold the highest standards in our public primary schools,” he stated.

“Today’s visit is not only to inspect but to encourage both our teachers and pupils to embrace the new term with renewed energy and commitment.”

Dr. Shittu lauded schools that demonstrated a high level of readiness and urged those with lapses to address them urgently.

He reaffirmed the Lagos State Government‘s commitment to quality education, including ongoing investments in teacher training, improved infrastructure, and enhanced learning materials.
