The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved several key appointments into the state’s major commissions and agencies.

EpeInsights reports that the move was made official on Friday after a successful screening process led by a 12-member committee, chaired by Hon. Mojeed F.A. of Ibeju-Lekki I.

Several distinguished individuals are stepping into important roles across various commissions. Prince Adewale Taorid Ojora has been appointed as a Member of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC). Engr. Abimbola Odubiyi will serve as Chairman (Non-Executive) of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission. Mr. Tunde Gbajumo is now a Non-Executive Member of the same commission.

Animashaun Fouad Olayinka is appointed as CEO/Executive Member. Barr. Kofo Olokun and Oluwaseun A. Fadare both joined as executive members.

In addition to the key commissions, there have been appointments made to the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission, with Mrs. Dapo-Thomas Bolade, Mr. Fatai Olalekan Lasisi, Mr. Afolabi Olatunji Sobowale, Mr. Rufus Adekoya Adedapo, and Mr. Lateef Yahaya taking on new roles.Lagos Assembly Approves Key Appointments Across State Commissions

Good news also came from the Office of the Public Defender (OPD), as Mr. Jide Badmos and Ms. Yinka Shitta-Bey were reappointed for another four-year term on the Governing Council.

These fresh appointments show the Lagos Assembly’s ongoing commitment to good governance and institutional strength.

By bringing in new leadership, the government aims to continue enhancing service delivery for Lagosians, aligning with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision for a more efficient and effective state government.
