Epe’s political landscape is buzzing with renewed energy and optimism as Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, has been successfully cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the primary election.
EpeInsights reports that with this green light coming ahead of the Local Government election, she is now officially poised to contest the APC primary election slated for May 10, 2025 after the screening at the Lagos State Secretariat in Acme, Ikeja.
The screening result released by the party shows that five aspirants were successfully cleared to contest the Epe Local Government chairmanship ticket. They are:
- Animashaun Surah Olayemi, age 50, female, score: 79%
- Giwa Idris Olayinka, age 52, male, score: 70%
- Adesanya Adedoyin A., age 57, male, score: 67%
- Anifowose Abdulganiu Surajudeen, age 52, male, score: 61%
- Owolabi Owuye, age 60, male, score: 42%
No aspirant was disqualified or marked unsuccessful in the process as the screening success comes as no surprise to many observers and constituents alike.
Princess Animashaun who is seeking re-election has been widely hailed as a transformational leader haven consistently demonstrated an unshakable commitment to development, accountability and good governance.
Her tenure has been marked by bold projects, community-driven initiatives and a people-first approach that has redefined public service in Epe.

Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State some days ago constituted an electoral committee tasked with conducting primaries for the July 12 local government election.
A statement by Lagos APC spokesman, Mr Seye Oladejo, named a former national legal adviser of the party, Mr Babatunde Ogala, as the chairman of the committee.
