The event brought together government officials, education stakeholders, and local government representatives to celebrate the achievements of the school feeding initiative across Lagos State. The programme continues to promote improved nutrition, school attendance, and better learning outcomes for pupils.
Among the dignitaries present was the Programme Manager of the Renewed Hope National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, Dr. Princess Aderemi Adebowale. Also in attendance were members of the Conference 57 Chairmen, who joined other stakeholders in assessing the programme’s progress and impact.
Representing the Executive Chairman, Alhaja Ramat Bola Kasali conveyed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to initiatives that improve the welfare of children and support quality education within the community.
The Community Impact Award presented to Engr. Kasali recognised the contributions of the Lekki LCDA administration toward programmes that strengthen education and promote child welfare. The honour reflects the council’s continued support for initiatives that positively affect families and young learners.
The Renewed Hope National Home Grown School Feeding Programme has remained one of the Federal Government’s flagship social intervention initiatives. Through partnerships with state governments and local councils, the programme provides nutritious meals and snacks to pupils while encouraging regular school attendance.
Organisers noted that the “Adopt a School, Snacks for Thought (PBAT Feeds)” initiative has expanded collaboration between government agencies, development partners, and local authorities. The programme also supports local food producers by sourcing ingredients from communities, creating economic opportunities alongside educational benefits.

Stakeholders at the ceremony highlighted the importance of sustained investment in child nutrition. They stressed that healthy pupils are more likely to remain in school, participate actively in learning, and achieve stronger academic outcomes.
The gathering also served as an opportunity to acknowledge individuals and institutions that have demonstrated commitment to improving educational development through community-based interventions. Award recipients were celebrated for supporting programmes that make a meaningful difference in the lives of children.
For Lekki LCDA, the recognition adds to ongoing efforts aimed at promoting inclusive development through education, healthcare, and social welfare initiatives. The council has consistently partnered with government agencies and community groups to deliver programmes that benefit residents.
Observers at the event described the award as a reflection of effective collaboration between local government and stakeholders working toward shared development goals. They noted that sustained partnerships remain essential to expanding access to quality education and improving children’s well-being.
The presence of Conference 57 Chairmen further underscored the role of local governments in implementing grassroots programmes. Their participation highlighted the importance of collective leadership in supporting initiatives that directly impact communities across Lagos State.
As the programme concluded, stakeholders expressed optimism that continued collaboration would strengthen future interventions designed to support pupils, encourage school enrolment, and enhance learning environments throughout the state.
The recognition received by Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali reinforces the value of community-driven leadership and sustained support for initiatives that place children’s education and welfare at the centre of development efforts.
