The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, has felicitated with Nigerians as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Epe Insights reports that Kasali, in his Independence Day message, reflected on Nigeria’s journey while highlighting the resilience, courage and shared hope of its citizens.
Nigeria marks 66 years of independence on October 1, 2026, with the Federal Government declaring the day a public holiday. The national celebration is themed “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity.”
Kasali described the strength of Nigeria as extending beyond its geographical size to the resilience and determination of its people.
He acknowledged the importance of citizens working together towards a more developed and prosperous nation.
The chairman also expressed appreciation to residents of Lekki LCDA for their continued support and confidence in the administration.
He said the development of the council area remains a collective responsibility involving government and residents.
Kasali noted that every infrastructure project, community initiative and service delivered to residents forms part of the broader development journey.
He said the administration would continue to focus on initiatives aimed at improving the lives of people within Lekki LCDA.
The chairman encouraged residents to remain committed to the development of their communities.
He also urged citizens to recognise their role in shaping the future of Nigeria.
Kasali said the country’s future would be influenced by the choices and actions of its citizens.
He therefore called for active participation in the democratic process as the 2027 general elections approach.
In his message, Kasali specifically encouraged residents to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates.

He mentioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates across different levels of government.
The appeal formed part of Kasali’s broader Independence Day message to residents of Lekki LCDA.
He urged citizens to remain united and participate actively in the electoral process.
Kasali also extended Independence Day greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He wished the President continued wisdom and strength in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The chairman also acknowledged Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his service to the state.
He extended his goodwill to Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, whom he identified as the APC governorship candidate referenced in his message.
Kasali further recognised Dr. Odutola Kasali, whom he described as his father and the foremost Apex Leader in Ibeju-Lekki.
He expressed appreciation for the elder Kasali’s leadership, guidance and commitment to the people.
The Lekki LCDA chairman prayed for wisdom, good health, strength and grace for the individuals mentioned in his message.
He also wished them continued success as they contribute to the development of Nigeria, Lagos State and their communities.
Kasali called on Nigerians to embrace unity and cooperation as the country marks another year of independence.

The government’s official anniversary programme includes activities leading up to a nationwide broadcast by President Tinubu on October 1.
For Kasali, the anniversary is also an opportunity to appreciate the people of Lekki LCDA and reaffirm the importance of collective development.
He encouraged residents to continue supporting initiatives that promote community growth and improve living conditions.
