In a bid to enhance local security and tackle the growing threat of electricity cable vandalism, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has officially handed over a patrol bike to the Gbalule Local Security Taskforce.
EpeInsights reports that the patrol bike donated to the Council by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu through the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is part of a statewide initiative to reinforce grassroots security and safeguard public infrastructure.
During the handover ceremony, Otunba-Akogun Anomo expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for his continued commitment to supporting local councils, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. He also praised the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Olowu Abiola Okanlawon, for his proactive collaboration with the council, particularly in response to the recent spate of cable vandalism.
The Chairman commended the Gbalule security team and members of the Joint Security Taskforce for their vigilance and tireless efforts in protecting communities within the LCDA. He urged them to make full use of the patrol bike to improve their operations and reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to strengthening local security.

In his remarks, Commander of Gbalule, Mr. Raji Smart, thanked the Chairman for his unwavering support and consistent funding of the community’s security efforts. He assured residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin that the taskforce remains committed to ensuring the safety and protection of lives and infrastructure, adding that the new patrol bike would significantly boost their efficiency and response time.
