As part of efforts to prepare young people for emerging economic opportunities, plans have been unveiled for the establishment of an ICT Training Centre that will serve as the proposed hub of the Ibeju-Lekki Career Accelerator Programme under the SHIEELD Agenda.
Epe Insights reports that the initiative is designed to equip youths with digital, entrepreneurial and professional skills required to compete in today’s fast-changing economy. The programme reflects a strategic investment in human capital development across the rapidly expanding Ibeju-Lekki axis.
The proposed Career Accelerator Programme is being developed through a collaboration involving Genzaar, Africa Fintech Foundry (AFF), GIZ through its Centres for Migration and Development (ZME) Programme, and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The fully equipped ICT Training Centre is expected to provide participants with practical training in digital technology, entrepreneurship, career readiness and workplace competencies, positioning them for employment and business opportunities.
The initiative aligns with the SHIEELD Agenda’s commitment to empowering young people with future-ready skills while supporting inclusive economic growth within the local government area.
