In a major stride toward promoting access to quality education, the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has disbursed ₦5 million in bursaries to support 100 students across the council.

EpeInsights reports that each beneficiary received ₦50,000 to ease financial pressures and enable them to focus on their academic pursuits.

Representing the Chairman at the event, Vice Chairman Hon. Lateef Adesanya emphasized the transformative role of education in building a prosperous society.

“Education remains the most vital investment in our young people, this bursary is part of a broader agenda to support brilliant yet financially disadvantaged students and enhance academic outcomes in our communities” he said.

Under Hon. Akinloye’s leadership, Eredo LCDA has made significant investments in the education sector, including classroom construction, teacher recruitment, supply of learning materials, and rehabilitation of school facilities.

The beneficiaries, drawn from different communities within Eredo, expressed gratitude for the gesture. One recipient, Olamide, shared: “This support comes at a crucial time. It will go a long way in covering school needs and reducing financial stress on my family.”

Parents and community leaders at the event commended the initiative, describing it as a meaningful investment in the future of the LCDA. “This is what leadership should look like—responsive, compassionate, and people-centered,” remarked one elder.
