Epe Local Government has officially inaugurated Environmental Marshals to enforce sanitation laws and promote cleaner communities across the council area.
Epe Insights reports that the initiative is designed to strengthen grassroots enforcement, improve sanitation standards, and foster responsible waste management practices among residents.
The newly appointed marshals were carefully selected and equipped to carry out their duties with professionalism, integrity, and fairness. They will serve as ambassadors of a cleaner, safer, and more organized environment in Epe.
Executive Chairman, Surah Olayemi Animashaun, stressed that environmental cleanliness is a shared responsibility, vital for the health, dignity, and future of the community.
She described the initiative as a strategic step to enforce environmental regulations and curb indiscriminate waste disposal.
“This inauguration is a deliberate step to reinforce environmental discipline and ensure that our communities remain clean and habitable for all,” the Chairman said.
She added that the program aligns with the broader vision of transforming Epe into a model of environmental excellence within Lagos State.
The marshals are expected to collaborate with community leaders, stakeholders, and residents to ensure compliance with sanitation laws, promote environmental awareness, and encourage proper waste management practices across all wards.
Stakeholders and security agencies present at the ceremony expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing the need for collective action in maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment.
