The Epe Club has announced plans to host a grand celebration in honour of a respected elder and leader of Epe Division, Alhaji Seriki Akanni Bamu, scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2026.
Epe Insights reports that the announcement was made during a press conference addressed by the club’s executive members, led by its President, Chief Olayemi Dada, who described the event as historic and unprecedented.
Chief Dada said the celebration is designed to recognise Alhaji Bamu as an icon, leader, and father whose influence has shaped generations across Epe Division.
The event will be held at Legacy Hall, around Alausa, Ikeja, and will feature testimonials from individuals mentored by Alhaji Bamu, who will share personal accounts of his impact.
According to the club president, the celebration is meant to honour Alhaji Bamu while he is alive, allowing him to witness and enjoy the tributes in his honour.
Chief Dada explained that Epe Club is a socio-cultural organisation representing the five zones of Epe Division: Ibeju-Lekki, Ikosi-Ejinrin, Eredo, Lekki, and Epe Central.
He noted that the club, founded in 1974, is made up of distinguished indigenes and has grown into a prominent platform for unity and development.
Highlighting its contributions, he listed bursary awards, healthcare support, care for the aged, and community interventions across Epe Division.
The club also outlined plans focused on youth development through recreational facilities and vocational training centres.
The event is expected to attract national dignitaries, including senior government officials and traditional rulers.
Epe Club executives reaffirmed their commitment to community service, youth development, and celebrating individuals who have contributed to the growth of Epe Division.
