Epe Icon, Late Otunba Bola Odebiyi’s Body Returns for Final Rites

Epe Insights learnt that the body of the late Otunba Bola Odebiyi, a founding member and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Epe Club, will arrive in Epe from the United Kingdom on Thursday, April 3, 2025, for final burial rites.

In an official statement, President of Epe Club, Chief Yemi Dada, said the late Otunba Odebiyi’s remains will be received at the Epe Club (T-Junction) at 10:00 a.m. for a brief lying-in-state ceremony.

The solemn occasion will allow members of the club and well-wishers to pay their last respects to a man who played a pivotal role in the club’s foundation and growth.

Following the lying-in-state, the body will proceed to No. 33 Eid Street, Epe, where interment will take place. A prayer session will be held immediately afterward at the deceased’s residence in Epe.

Members of Epe Club have been urged to wear the official club cap as a mark of honor for the late BOT Chairman.

The club leadership also called for full participation from its members, requesting their presence at the club secretariat between 10:00 a.m. and 11:59 a.m. to join in the final farewell.

Otunba Bola Odebiyi was widely respected for his contributions to Epe Club and his commitment to the development of the community.

He passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 88 in a London hospital. His passing marks the end of an era, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Otunba Odebiyi was a beacon of wisdom and a key force behind numerous initiatives driving Epe’s development. His unwavering commitment to unity, progress, and leadership earned him deep respect both locally and within the Epe diaspora.
