The Epe community came together on Thursday to honour the memory of the late Otunba Bola Odebiyi, during an emotional 8th-day Fidau prayer held at his residence.
Epe Insights reports that while leading the solemn ceremony the Grand Chief Imam of Epe Division, Sheikh Abdulrahman Abiola Sadallah, offered heartfelt prayers for the repose of Otunba’s soul. In a moving sermon, the revered cleric described the late Otunba as “a man of rare character,” devoted to humanity and community upliftment.
“Otunba Bola Odebiyi was a pillar in this community—he lived with purpose and served with honour,” Sheikh Sadallah said, urging the Odebiyi family to preserve his legacy of humility, compassion, and selfless service.
The event drew Islamic clerics, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to pay tribute to a man celebrated for his generosity, peaceful nature, and dedication to the common good.

Other prominent clerics, including the Senior Imam of Epe Division and Sheikh Adam, also offered prayers and shared glowing tributes. They recalled Otunba’s enduring impact on Epe and beyond, hailing him as a symbol of faith, peace, and unwavering community service.
The Fidau prayer served as more than a religious observance—it became a powerful reminder of the lasting influence of a life lived in service to others.
