The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has held the second edition of its Widows Empowerment Programme aimed at supporting and uplifting widows across Lagos State.
Epe Insights reports that the programme was hosted by the First Lady of Lagos State and COWLSO Chairman, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos Island East Local Government Secretariat.
The initiative was themed “Turning the Pains of Widowhood to Gain,” focusing on transforming challenges faced by widows into opportunities for growth and stability.
The empowerment programme provided financial assistance, health awareness, legal education, and capacity-building opportunities for participating widows.

Beneficiaries were drawn from across the Lagos Division, reflecting the state’s commitment to inclusive social welfare interventions.
