Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and PrimeBoy have been cleared over Mohbad’s death.
Epe Insights reports that the Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos Nigeria, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, acquitted Nigerian singer, Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly called Naira Marley, over the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was better known as Mohbad.
In a ruling delivered by Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, the court said Naira Marley had no case to answer.
The court also freed music promoter, Samson Balogun, known as Sam Larry; Owodunni Ibrahim, also called Primeboy; and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde alongside Naira Marley.
However, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad shortly before he passed, will be prosecuted by the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Similarly, one of Mohbad’s friends, Ayobami Sadiq, will also be prosecuted for the offence of reckless and negligent acts contrary to Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The duo are due to be prosecuted at the magistrate court.
