In celebration of the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child, the Lagos State Government, through the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), hosted over 90 schoolgirls to an inspiring and interactive event that celebrated courage, creativity and empowerment.
EpeInsights reports that the gathering, held under the vibrant theme of amplifying girls’ voices and protecting their right to thrive, featured thought-provoking conversations, creative performances, and engaging debates, all designed to inspire the next generation of female leaders.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement and hope as participants shared experiences, asked bold questions, and received guidance from facilitators and mentors committed to building a safer and more inclusive future for girls in Lagos.
According to the DSVA, the event aimed to equip girls with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities needed to break barriers and take on leadership roles in their communities.
“When girls are empowered, they don’t just dream — they lead, they innovate, and they transform communities,” the agency noted.
The event reinforced Lagos State’s ongoing commitment to gender equality and the protection of girls from sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) under the #SGBVItConcernsUsAll campaign.
As the day drew to a close, one message stood out clearly — every girl has a story, a voice, and a future worth investing in.
