The spirit of dedication, unity, and excellence filled the air on Sunday as teachers across Epe converged at the NUT Cooperative Hall, T-Junction, for the grand finale of the 2025 Epe Teachers’ Week, held in commemoration of this year’s World Teachers’ Day celebration.

EpeInsights reports that despite the heavy rainfall, hundreds of teachers turned out in style, joined by dignitaries, royal fathers, awardees and education stakeholders from across the constituency.

The event venue was alive with colour, music and cultural displays as attendees celebrated the teaching profession and its indispensable role in shaping the nation’s future.

The atmosphere was described as “electrifying”, with performances, traditional dances, and songs that highlighted the pride and unity of teachers in Epe. Retirees were specially recognised for their years of meritorious service, while exceptional educators and distinguished personalities received awards and gifts in appreciation of their contributions to education and community development.

In a heartfelt appreciation message, the 2025 World Teachers’ Day Planning Committee expressed gratitude to God and to all who made the celebration a resounding success. Speaking on behalf of the committee, Chairman Comrade Yusuf Kassim (Leecrown) acknowledged the teamwork and cooperation that defined the event’s planning and execution.

“When I first heard the slogan ‘Teachers united… can never be defeated,’ I deeply appreciated its meaning,” Kassim said.

“The success of this year’s celebration has proven that indeed, when teachers stand together, nothing is impossible.”

The committee also extended sincere appreciation to all teachers across Primary, Secondary, and Technical College levels, as well as dignitaries, guest speakers, retirees, awardees, stakeholders, and royal fathers for their support and presence.

The message concluded with a reaffirmation of the 2025 celebration theme “Together for Teachers; Together for Tomorrow” and a prayer for continued blessings and more fulfilling years of World Teachers’ Day observances.

The 2025 Epe Teachers’ Week Grand Finale was organised by the Epe Branch of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), under the leadership of its Executive Council and the World Teachers’ Day Planning Committee, comprising Comrades Yusuf Kassim (Chairman), Awonuga Lateef (Co-Chairman), Adebisi Jimoh (Secretary), and several others.

The event once again underscored the strength, unity, and resilience of the teaching community in Epe, celebrating educators as builders of the nation’s tomorrow.
