In a remarkable display of grassroots loyalty and political strength, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) kicked off its ward-to-ward campaign with an electrifying rally across Wards E1 and E2 on Thursday, July 3rd, undeterred by the heavy rainfall that soaked the region.

EpeInsights reports that despite the persistent downpour, hundreds of party supporters, residents and community leaders gathered to rally for the re-election bid of the incumbent Chairman, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo and Vice Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Oluwole Dehinsilu.

The event featured the formal presentation of the APC’s councillorship candidates Hon. Disu Opeyemi Ajenise (Ward E1) and Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi (Ward E2).

Their introduction was met with thunderous applause, energetic chants, and open declarations of support from community members and party loyalists.

A dramatic moment came during the rally in Ward E2, home of former Executive Chairman Hon. Samson Adeniyi Onanuga, popularly known as Bobo Mi.

Addressing the crowd with confidence, Onanuga declared that his ward would not only deliver the highest number of votes in the upcoming LCDA elections but vowed that his own polling unit would break records in voter turnout.

He threw open a challenge to others in the LCDA to match the feat.

In his speech, Chairman Akogun Anomo reflected on the milestones achieved during his administration, citing progress in sectors such as education, healthcare, road infrastructure, youth empowerment, rural electrification and community security.

He pledged to expand these achievements and deepen inclusive governance if re-elected.

“This is not just about elections, it’s about trust, performance, and continuity,” Anomo said. “We are ready to do even more with the people behind us.”

Also speaking at the rally, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Yusuf, thanked party leaders and supporters for their steadfastness, highlighting the crowd’s resilience as evidence of unwavering faith in APC’s leadership.

“The turnout we saw today, despite the weather, proves that the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin are not only ready but eager to move forward under tested and trusted leadership,” he said.

“We are not merely seeking votes; we are renewing a bond of service with our people.”

The ward-to-ward campaign continues with upcoming stops in Wards G1 and F1 as the APC campaign train intensifies mobilization efforts across the LCDA.

As the 2025 local council elections approach, Ikosi-Ejinrin stands out as a beacon of political organization and community engagement, reinforcing APC’s foothold in Lagos State’s grassroots politics.
