Olowu, Bode Oyedele Meet Non-Indigenes in Oribanwa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. (Engr.) Abiola Okanlawon Olowu, has met with leaders of the non-indigenes community at the party’s secretariat in Oribanwa, Ibeju-Lekki.

Epe Insights reports that Olowu, popularly known as OKL, FNSE, attended the meeting alongside Chief Bode Oyedele as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement, promote unity and discuss inclusive representation ahead of the forthcoming election.

The meeting brought together prominent non-indigenes community stakeholders, including Chief Lady, Chief Mrs. Lucy and Ejide, who were described in the organisers’ account as influential members and mobilisers within the constituency.

During the engagement, Olowu appreciated the community for its continued support for the APC and its contributions to the social and economic development of Ibeju-Lekki.

He stressed the importance of ensuring that all residents feel represented, regardless of their state of origin or ethnic background.

Olowu said his legislative agenda would prioritise unity, fairness and people-centred governance, with attention to the needs and aspirations of different communities across Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I.

He also identified infrastructure development, youth empowerment, employment opportunities and support for small businesses as areas of focus in his proposed agenda.

The APC candidate maintained that Ibeju-Lekki should remain a welcoming home for all residents, adding that inclusive representation is essential to community development.

His engagement with the non-indigenes community provided an opportunity for discussions on political participation, cooperation and the role of residents in the development of the constituency.

Chief Bode Oyedele, who accompanied Olowu, commended the community leaders for what he described as their peaceful coexistence and political maturity.

Oyedele also encouraged the participants to maintain their relationship with the APC.

He expressed confidence in Olowu’s leadership qualities, pointing to his engineering background and grassroots connections as attributes he believed could support effective legislative representation.

The meeting further provided a platform for community representatives to express their views and discuss their expectations of political leadership in Ibeju-Lekki.

In their response, Chief Lady, Chief Mrs. Lucy and Ejide praised Olowu’s humility and willingness to engage with community stakeholders.

They pledged their support for his political ambition and expressed readiness to mobilise members of the non-indigenes community in support of his candidacy.

Their position, as conveyed during the meeting, underscored the importance of community consultations in building relationships between political candidates and residents.

Non-indigenes form part of the wider social and economic fabric of Ibeju-Lekki, contributing to commercial activities, businesses and community life.

Engagements with different groups can provide candidates with opportunities to understand residents’ concerns and communicate their proposed priorities.

For Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, issues such as infrastructure, employment, youth development and support for small businesses remain relevant to discussions about local representation.

The meeting at the Oribanwa APC Secretariat reflected the campaign’s stated intention to maintain contact with community stakeholders and broaden its consultations.

While the participants expressed support for Olowu, the proposed policies and priorities outlined during the engagement remain part of his campaign agenda.

The meeting ended with renewed expressions of cooperation between the candidate and the community representatives, according to the organisers’ account.
