Hon. Sylvester Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu, member representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has marked his birthday alongside Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary with a celebration that featured the distribution of more than 1,500 food packs and cash gifts to beneficiaries.
Epe Insights reports that the celebration brought together constituents, political stakeholders, community members and supporters who gathered to felicitate with the lawmaker and acknowledge his activities in Epe Constituency II.
Speaking at the event, Yeye Olayinka Olusanya, APC Vice Chairman, Lagos East Senatorial District, commended Ogunkelu for what she described as his commitment to the development and welfare of his constituents.
Olusanya also spoke on preparations for the forthcoming general elections, urging party supporters to remain engaged in the electoral process.
She encouraged residents who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to take advantage of the collection exercise when it commences on October 9.
The Independent National Electoral Commission provides voter services for registered voters, including information on PVC collection and polling-unit locations. INEC’s current election calendar lists January 16, 2027, as the scheduled date for the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Other APC stakeholders who attended the celebration also felicitated with Ogunkelu on his birthday.
The stakeholders commended the lawmaker for what they described as his representation and contributions to constituency development.

The event also featured a large-scale empowerment gesture, with more than 1,500 food packs distributed to members of the community.
Cash gifts were also presented to beneficiaries as part of activities marking the celebration.
The gesture added a humanitarian dimension to the birthday and Independence Day gathering, bringing together celebration and community support.
Ogunkelu’s birthday celebration provided an opportunity for constituents, political stakeholders and community members to interact while recognising the occasion and the lawmaker’s representation of Epe Constituency II.
The gathering also reflected the political activities taking place in the constituency as stakeholders begin preparations ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

The celebration ended with the continued distribution of the food packs and cash support to beneficiaries, as attendees joined in marking Ogunkelu’s birthday and Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary.
