The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has commended the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, for his exceptional leadership and the remarkable development recorded under his administration.
Epe Insights reports that the commendation came during the Committee’s statutory oversight visit to the Eredo LCDA Secretariat, where lawmakers assessed the council’s performance and reviewed key projects executed between 2024 and the present.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, who applauded the administration for delivering impactful projects that have transformed communities across Eredo LCDA.
During the visit, Hon. Akinloye presented a comprehensive scorecard of his administration, highlighting achievements across critical sectors that continue to improve the lives of residents.
The presentation showcased significant investments in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports development, environmental sustainability, security, agriculture, youth empowerment, and other people-centred programmes.
Hon. Akinloye explained that the projects were carefully designed to address community needs while promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development throughout Eredo LCDA.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparent governance, prudent resource management, and continuous investment in projects that deliver lasting value to residents.
The Executive Chairman noted that every development initiative undertaken by the council is driven by the goal of improving public service delivery and expanding opportunities for the people.
Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee expressed satisfaction with the level of development witnessed during the oversight exercise.
The lawmakers particularly commended the administration’s achievements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure, describing them as clear evidence of purposeful and visionary leadership.
They praised Hon. Akinloye for maintaining a people-focused approach to governance while ensuring that development reaches communities across the council area.
The committee also acknowledged the administration’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and efficient implementation of projects that directly benefit residents.

While commending the council’s performance, the lawmakers offered constructive recommendations aimed at strengthening service delivery and sustaining the pace of development.
One of the major highlights of the oversight visit was the committee’s inspection of the Eredo LCDA Legislative Building.
The lawmakers described the facility as one of the largest and most impressive legislative buildings they had seen among the more than 53 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas visited across Lagos State.
According to the committee, the modern legislative complex reflects Hon. Akinloye’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and providing the infrastructure required for effective grassroots governance.
The lawmakers noted that investments in institutional development are essential to promoting accountability, effective legislation, and quality public administration.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Hon. Okanlawon encouraged the council chairman to sustain the impressive pace of development and continue implementing projects that improve residents’ wellbeing.

He described Eredo LCDA as an example of effective grassroots governance and applauded the administration for its commitment to sustainable development.
Responding to the commendation, Hon. Akinloye expressed appreciation to the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee for recognising the achievements of his administration.
He said the lawmakers’ observations and recommendations would further motivate the council to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across every community in Eredo LCDA.
The chairman reaffirmed his commitment to executing more impactful projects in partnership with the Lagos State Government and relevant stakeholders.
He also appreciated Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for creating an enabling environment that allows local governments to implement meaningful development initiatives.

The oversight engagement was attended by the Leader and members of the Legislative Council, Supervisors, the Secretary to the Local Government, the Chief of Staff, the Council Manager, the Council Treasurer, Heads of Departments, and other members of the council’s management team.
The council officials collectively reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Hon. Akinloye’s vision of delivering responsive governance, strengthening institutions, and accelerating sustainable development across Eredo LCDA.
