The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating drug abuse following a courtesy visit by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Epe Insights reports that the Chairman received the Area Commander of the Narcotics Division, Ibeju-Lekki, SK Garba, who led an NDLEA delegation to discuss strategies for strengthening collaboration in the fight against substance abuse within Lekki LCDA.
The visit focused on the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, the NDLEA’s flagship advocacy initiative designed to promote awareness, prevent drug abuse and encourage collective action against illicit drug use.
The engagement also highlighted the importance of building stronger partnerships between government institutions, security agencies and community stakeholders in addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse.
Welcoming the delegation, Engr. Kasali commended the NDLEA for its dedication to protecting communities from the dangers associated with illicit drugs.
He praised the agency’s sustained efforts in public enlightenment, enforcement operations and preventive campaigns aimed at reducing drug-related offences.
