Epe Local Government has commenced the Emerging Leaders Programme, a youth development initiative designed to identify, nurture and empower young people with the skills required to become future leaders and agents of positive change.

Epe Insights reports that the programme is an initiative of the administration of the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, aimed at strengthening leadership capacity, promoting innovation and preparing young people for greater opportunities.

The Emerging Leaders Programme brings together promising youths from across Epe for an intensive learning experience focused on leadership, civic engagement and personal development.

According to the council, the initiative was created to discover exceptional young minds and equip them with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to contribute meaningfully to community and national development.

Participants are undergoing leadership sessions designed to inspire responsible decision-making, ethical leadership and service to society.

The programme also exposes participants to innovation and creative thinking, encouraging them to develop practical solutions to challenges within their communities.

Organisers explained that civic responsibility is another major focus of the initiative. Young participants are being encouraged to understand their roles as active citizens and contributors to sustainable development.

The training further includes employability sessions aimed at preparing participants for today’s competitive labour market through workplace skills, professionalism and career development.

Problem-solving and critical thinking are also central components of the programme. Participants are learning how to analyse issues, develop innovative ideas and make informed decisions.

Personal development sessions are helping participants build confidence, improve communication skills and strengthen their ability to work effectively with others.

Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun described the programme as more than a conventional training exercise, noting that it represents a long-term investment in the future of Epe.

She explained that empowering young people remains one of the key priorities of her administration because they represent the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.

According to the Chairman, the Emerging Leaders Programme seeks to raise bold thinkers who can provide practical solutions to social and economic challenges.

She added that the initiative is designed to produce responsible citizens who will contribute positively to community development while demonstrating integrity and accountability.

The programme also encourages participants to become transformational leaders capable of inspiring positive change within their schools, workplaces and communities.
