The Administration of Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE),  has reinforced its commitment to community wellness with a sensitization programme focused on the importance of sports and physical activities in promoting healthy living.

Epe Insights reports that the event was organized by the council’s Agric and Social Services Department at the Council Secretariat Hall to encourage residents to adopt healthier lifestyles through regular exercise and recreation.

The programme brought together government officials, health professionals, and community stakeholders to discuss the role of sports in improving overall wellbeing.

Delivering the welcome address on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), the Chief of Staff, Hon. Razak Ojikutu, commended participants for attending the programme.

Ojikutu stressed the importance of maintaining healthy habits and embracing physical activities as part of everyday life.

He noted that regular exercise remains one of the most effective ways to improve health and prevent lifestyle-related illnesses.

The Supervisor for Sports, Hon. Olatokunbo Shonaike, also addressed participants during the programme.

He highlighted the numerous benefits of sports and recreational activities, describing them as essential tools for physical fitness and mental wellbeing.

According to him, active participation in sports contributes to increased productivity, stronger social relationships, and a healthier society.

Shonaike encouraged residents to make exercise a regular part of their daily routine regardless of age or occupation.

Among those in attendance were the Council Manager, Secretary to the Local Government, Chief of Staff, Heads of Departments, Medical Officer of Health, Supervisors, and Special Advisers.
