The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch, has intensified its campaign to encourage eligible youths and residents to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Epe Insights reports that the council is mobilising residents across Epe Division to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the July 10 deadline announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The council described the PVC as one of the most important tools for democratic participation and responsible citizenship.

According to NYCN Epe, every eligible voter has a responsibility to register and contribute to shaping the future of their communities through the electoral process.

The youth body noted that voter registration remains the first step toward meaningful civic engagement and political inclusion.

It emphasized that citizens can only exercise their voting rights during elections if they possess valid voter registration credentials.

NYCN Epe urged first-time voters, particularly young people who have recently attained voting age, to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise.

The council also encouraged residents who need to update or transfer their voter information to complete the necessary processes before the deadline.

Officials stressed that active participation in elections strengthens democracy and promotes accountable governance.

They noted that the decisions made at the ballot box often influence development, public policies, and community progress.

The council appealed to community leaders, youth groups, religious organisations, and stakeholders to support awareness efforts across Epe Division.

According to NYCN Epe, collective mobilisation is necessary to ensure that no eligible resident is left out of the voter registration process.

Residents were advised to visit the INEC office in Epe to complete their registration and biometric capture requirements.

The council also highlighted the availability of the online Continuous Voter Registration portal for those who wish to begin the process digitally before visiting an INEC registration centre.

NYCN Epe explained that the online option offers greater convenience and helps reduce congestion at registration locations.

The organisation expressed concern that many eligible voters still remain unregistered despite the approaching deadline.

It therefore called on residents to avoid last-minute rushes and complete their registration as early as possible.

Youth leaders noted that increased voter participation can help amplify the voices of young people in governance and decision-making.

They maintained that the future of democracy depends significantly on the willingness of citizens to engage actively in electoral processes.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to promoting voter education and democratic awareness throughout Epe Division.

Officials disclosed that awareness campaigns would continue in schools, markets, communities, and public spaces to encourage wider participation.

They stressed that voter registration should not be viewed as a political activity but as a civic responsibility for all eligible citizens.

Residents were reminded that registering for a PVC is an opportunity to contribute to the democratic development of the nation.

Stakeholders have also commended the council for its efforts in mobilising young people and strengthening civic consciousness.

Many believe that sustained voter education campaigns can improve electoral participation and democratic accountability.

As the July 10 deadline approaches, NYCN Epe has renewed its call on residents to act promptly and secure their voter registration.

The council emphasized that every vote matters and every registered voter has the power to influence the future through the ballot.

It concluded by urging all eligible residents to take advantage of the remaining registration period and become active participants in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
