Lekki LCDA Deepens Security Collaboration with Traditional Rulers, Community Leaders
Epe Insights reports that the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security through collaboration with traditional institutions, community leaders, and security agencies.
The Chairman made this known during a Security Stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting attended by royal fathers, Baales, community representatives, and security operatives from across Lekki LCDA.
The meeting provided a platform for participants to review security concerns affecting various communities and discuss practical measures to enhance public safety.
Engr. Kasali emphasized that sustainable security can only be achieved through strong cooperation among government, traditional institutions, security agencies, and residents.
He noted that community engagement remains essential in identifying threats early and developing effective responses to emerging security challenges.
The Chairman explained that the gathering was designed to encourage dialogue, improve information sharing, and strengthen partnerships among stakeholders.

Engr. Kasali also informed participants about recent security interventions introduced by the Lagos State Government.
He disclosed that a newly deployed security squad has been assigned to the area, comprising four patrol vehicles and twenty armed operatives.
The Chairman described the deployment as a significant boost to ongoing efforts aimed at safeguarding communities and responding to security threats.
He further announced plans by the Lekki LCDA administration to inaugurate a Joint Vigilante Group.
According to him, the initiative will strengthen community surveillance and complement the activities of existing security structures within the council area.
The proposed vigilante group is expected to improve grassroots security monitoring and support law enforcement agencies in maintaining order.
Engr. Kasali expressed appreciation to traditional rulers and community leaders for their continued support in promoting peace and stability.
He specifically acknowledged the contributions of His Royal Majesty Oba Liasim Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun, Onilekki of Lekki, and His Royal Majesty Oba Ismaila Adeleke Akibu, Onilepia of Lepia.
The Chairman also commended Baales, community stakeholders, and security agencies for their commitment to protecting residents.
