The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has convened a high-level peace and security meeting with key stakeholders across the local government area.

Epe Insights reports that the meeting brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, hotel owners, school proprietors, Community Development Associations (CDAs), and residents to strengthen collaboration on security matters in Ibeju-Lekki.

Security agencies present at the meeting included the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC).

Hon. Olowa expressed appreciation to all participants for their continued commitment to maintaining peace, unity, and stability across the local government.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious, especially in light of recent rumours concerning the movement of unfamiliar individuals within some communities.

The chairman advised residents to report suspicious activities to the appropriate security agencies rather than resorting to self-help or unlawful actions.

He specifically called on hotel owners and operators to ensure proper registration and documentation of guests to support effective security monitoring and profiling.

Traditional leadership also played a key role at the meeting, with the Paramount Ruler of Ibeju-Agbe and Onibeju of Ibeju, Oba Waliu Olasunkanmi Oguntolu, urging residents to remain alert and watchful.

The monarch commended security agencies for their continued efforts in safeguarding lives and property across the local government area.

He further encouraged collaboration between community members and security operatives to ensure sustained peace and order in all parts of Ibeju-Lekki.

The Commanding Officer of Epe Barracks, Lt. Col. Samson Enye, assured stakeholders of the military’s continuous commitment to protecting residents.

He stated that security personnel remain active both day and night in efforts to prevent threats and maintain stability in the region.

Lt. Col. Enye also advised the public to exercise caution in the use of social media, warning against the spread of unverified information that could incite panic or unrest.

Representatives of other security agencies reaffirmed their readiness to deepen inter-agency collaboration in addressing emerging security concerns within the local government.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolution by stakeholders to strengthen intelligence sharing, community vigilance, and coordinated response mechanisms.

Participants emphasized the importance of unity, communication, and proactive engagement in sustaining peace across Ibeju-Lekki communities.

Hon. Olowa reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the safety of residents and ensuring that security agencies are fully supported in their operations.
