Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has reinforced its commitment to environmental sustainability through the successful conduct of the May edition of its Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise across various communities in the council area.
Epe Insights reports that the exercise was led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, who joined sanitation teams, environmental officers, stakeholders, and residents in a coordinated effort to improve cleanliness and public health across Ibeju-Lekki.
The sanitation exercise covered major roads, drainage channels, market areas, public spaces, and other strategic locations within the local government. The initiative formed part of ongoing efforts by the council administration to create a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive environment for residents and visitors.
Large numbers of residents actively participated in the exercise, demonstrating growing public support for the local government’s environmental programmes. The turnout reflected a shared commitment to maintaining a cleaner and safer Ibeju-Lekki.
Sanitation teams focused on clearing refuse from key locations while restoring order in public spaces affected by indiscriminate waste disposal. The operation also targeted black spots and illegal dumping sites identified across several communities.

Roadside waste and accumulated refuse were removed from major corridors, helping to improve sanitation standards and enhance the overall appearance of communities within Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
