 The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ibeju-Lekki Chapter, successfully hosted a high-level programme themed “Inspiration and Innovation,” bringing together young leaders from across the local government area.

Speaking on the topic “Building a Viable Youth,” the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, praised the NYCN Ibeju-Lekki leadership for their commitment to youth development.

He described the council as a body that creates awareness, inspires action, and leads by example in nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Hon. Olowa highlighted his administration’s ongoing efforts to develop a strong and productive youth population through targeted skill acquisition programmes and empowerment initiatives.

He assured participants that additional impactful projects will be launched to further enhance youth engagement and growth.

“In sports, we have identified talents and have been rewarding them diligently. As a local government, we are committed to nurturing identified talents to greatness,” Hon. Olowa said, emphasizing the administration’s focus on recognizing and supporting young talent in all sectors.

The Executive Chairman encouraged youths to develop structured programmes for talent identification and skill development, stressing that the government will provide the necessary support to help them reach their full potential.

He also emphasized the importance of discipline, focus, and commitment to noble ideals for both personal and community development.

Key local government officials present included the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Sodiq Olajide Agbaje, Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Maruf Olayinka Issa, CDC Chairman Comrade Jabita Adeboye, and Technical Adviser, Mr. Oladimeji Ibrahim.
