The planned immortalisation of Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, the Apase of Epe Land, as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has formally endorsed the initiative.
Epe Insights reports that a delegation of the Epe Club, led by its President, Chief Olayemi Dada, paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker to brief him on plans to honour the revered Epe leader for his long-standing political, social, and community contributions.
During the visit, Chief Dada stressed the importance of celebrating outstanding personalities while they are alive to witness and appreciate the recognition, noting that Alhaji Bamu stands out among notable sons of Epe Division due to his exceptional impact and selfless service.

He disclosed that part of the immortalisation plan includes naming one of the club’s edifices after Alhaji Akanni Bamu, ensuring that his legacy and contributions to Epe’s development are permanently preserved.
Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa warmly received the delegation and described Alhaji Bamu as a leader worthy of honour.

He pledged his full support for the immortalisation programme, adding that recognising community builders strengthens heritage and inspires future generations.
The endorsement by the Speaker is expected to further boost support and anticipation ahead of the landmark celebration in Epe.
