The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, has called on stakeholders in Nigeria’s printing and publishing industry to remain steadfast in driving innovation and excellence, stressing the sector’s enduring relevance in the digital age.

EpeInsights reports that Omotoso made the charge at the official opening of the International Paper, Printing and Publishing Expo (IPPPEX) 2025, organised by DCS Integrated Media Limited, where he served as the Special Guest of Honour.

The annual expo provides a platform for professionals, investors, and innovators across the paper, printing, and publishing value chains to exchange ideas, showcase new technologies, and explore opportunities in the creative economy.

Represented by Dr. Olajide Atansuyi, Director of Social Media in the Ministry, Omotoso commended DCS Integrated Media Limited for its commitment to sustaining the annual event, describing IPPPEX as “a catalyst for technological advancement and creative excellence in the print and publishing industry.”

“Paper, printing and publishing are not just about ink and paper; they are about ideas, creativity, and the power to inform, educate and inspire. The story of human progress has always been written, printed, and published,” the Commissioner said.

He highlighted the indispensable role of the printing and publishing sectors in education, information dissemination, and cultural preservation, despite the growing dominance of digital communication platforms.

Omotoso urged DCS Integrated Media Limited to continue championing innovation, collaboration, and excellence, noting that IPPPEX has evolved beyond a mere exhibition to become a hub for knowledge exchange and a driver of growth in Nigeria’s creative industry.

“I urge DCS Integrated Media Limited to continue driving innovation and excellence in this vital sector. IPPPEX has become more than an exhibition; it is a hub for knowledge exchange, a platform for innovation, and a driver of growth in the creative industry,” he remarked.

Reaffirming the Lagos State Government’s support for industries that foster creativity and communication, Omotoso said the state continues to promote policies and partnerships that encourage innovation, skills development, and sustainable business practices.

“As a government, we remain committed to promoting a vibrant media and creative sector that drives economic development and job creation. Innovation and collaboration will define the future of print and publishing in the digital age,” he added.

Declaring the International Paper, Printing and Publishing Expo (IPPPEX) 2025 open, Omotoso congratulated the organisers, exhibitors, and participants for their resilience and contributions to national development, urging them to leverage the expo as a springboard for advancing technological and creative frontiers.

This year’s edition of IPPPEX featured exhibitions from local and international companies, expert panel discussions, and product demonstrations showcasing emerging trends and cutting-edge technologies redefining the future of printing and publishing in Africa.

Industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers in attendance commended DCS Integrated Media Limited for its sustained commitment to excellence and for providing a vital platform that bridges traditional print media and digital innovation, fostering collaboration and investment in Nigeria’s creative economy.
