617 residents of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) benefitted from a free medical outreach held at the Council Secretariat. The initiative underscored the council’s commitment to delivering accessible and people-centred healthcare services.
Epe Insights reports that the outreach programme was organized by the Medical Officer of Health, Dr Mbalaso Chidinma, and attracted a large turnout of residents seeking medical attention.
It provided a wide range of essential healthcare services aimed at early detection and treatment of common health conditions.

Beneficiaries received services including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, laboratory investigations, dental care, eye screenings, and general medical consultations. Free medications were also distributed, alongside professional health counselling to guide patients on preventive care and healthy living.
The presence of the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), added significance to the programme. He interacted with residents and emphasised the importance of prioritising personal health through regular medical check-ups.

The Chairman encouraged residents to take advantage of the services available at Primary Health Centres across Lekki LCDA. He stressed that consistent visits to these facilities would help in early diagnosis and proper management of health conditions.
Engr. Kasali reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving healthcare delivery within the council area. He disclosed that plans are ongoing to make such medical outreaches more frequent, ensuring wider coverage and greater impact among residents.
For many participants, the outreach provided an opportunity to access professional healthcare services they might have otherwise postponed. Several beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it helped address pressing health concerns at no cost.
The programme also highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, with medical personnel offering guidance on lifestyle changes and disease prevention. This approach aims to reduce the long-term burden of illnesses within the community.

The outreach aligns with the broader healthcare vision of the current administration, which focuses on accessibility, prevention, and community-based interventions. By bringing services closer to the people, the council continues to bridge gaps in healthcare access.
Through initiatives like this, Lekki LCDA is strengthening its public health system and promoting a healthier population. The council’s proactive approach reflects a growing emphasis on sustainable healthcare development at the grassroots level.
Residents have been urged to remain proactive about their health and to utilize available government health facilities. The council reiterated its commitment to sustaining programmes that directly improve the wellbeing of its people.
