The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) responded swiftly to incidents of fallen trees following heavy rainfall on Tuesday night, April 22, 2025.
The agency’s emergency response team was immediately deployed to clear obstructions across Ikoyi, Ikeja, and nearby areas.
In Ikoyi, operations were carried out on Alexander, McDonald, and Bourdillon Roads, where fallen trees had disrupted vehicular movement.
On Bourdillon, a tree fell on power lines, necessitating a controlled power outage in coordination with the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) to ensure safe removal.
Similar clearing efforts took place at the Multi-Agency Complex in Alausa, Adekunle Fajuyi in Ikeja GRA, and Akin Adesola Street in Victoria Island.
LASPARK teams worked through the night to restore road access and safeguard public spaces.
The agency expressed appreciation to residents for their cooperation and to the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) for assisting with debris removal.
It also encouraged members of the public to report fallen trees and related emergencies via the LASPARK emergency hotline: 09017960980.
