The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch, has successfully hosted its 2026 Ramadan Lecture, bringing together youths, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and residents for reflection and dialogue on peace and unity.

Epe Insights reports that the lecture, held in Epe, created a platform for young people and community leaders to discuss the role of youths in promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening interfaith harmony within society.

Themed “The Role of Nigerian Youths in Promoting Peaceful Coexistence and Interfaith Harmony,” the programme highlighted the importance of tolerance, understanding, and collaboration among Nigeria’s diverse religious and ethnic groups.

Addressing participants at the event, the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Epe Branch emphasized that young people must see themselves as ambassadors of peace capable of influencing positive change within their communities.

According to the council, Nigerian youths possess the energy and influence needed to bridge divides and promote mutual respect among people of different faiths and cultural backgrounds.

“Youths must see themselves as builders of peace and promoters of harmony regardless of religious or ethnic differences,” the council stated during the lecture.

Speakers at the event also encouraged young people to embrace dialogue, understanding, and cooperation as essential tools for preventing conflicts and building stronger communities.

The gathering further highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a period of spiritual reflection, discipline, and compassion, values that align with the broader goals of peacebuilding and social harmony.

Participants noted that initiatives such as the Ramadan Lecture help strengthen community relationships and create opportunities for constructive conversations among young people and leaders.

Community stakeholders and religious leaders in attendance commended the National Youth Council of Nigeria Epe Branch for organizing the programme and providing a platform for youth-driven dialogue on national unity.

They stressed that empowering youths with the right values and leadership skills is essential for sustainable peace and development across Nigeria.

The event also reinforced the role of faith-based and youth organizations in supporting community development and fostering understanding among different religious groups.

Organizers expressed appreciation to all dignitaries, youth leaders, religious leaders, and community members who attended and supported the lecture.

They reaffirmed the council’s commitment to promoting programmes that encourage unity, responsible youth engagement, and positive contributions to community development.
