In celebration of Workers’ Day 2025, the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) has applauded the hardworking men and women powering the growth of Lagos State.
EpeInsights reports that the event, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, served as both a tribute to the workforce and a platform to promote health and wellness.
CEO of LSACA, Dr. Folakemi Animashaun, congratulated Lagos workers and emphasized that Workers’ Day is more than just a holiday, it’s a time to recognize the challenges, achievements, and critical role of employees across sectors.
She also used the occasion to stress the importance of health in driving productivity and economic growth, pointing out that knowing one’s HIV status is a vital part of that equation particularly among the active workforce.
“Our workers are the backbone of our economy,” Dr. Animashaun said.
“Health is essential to productivity, and today’s free HIV testing and counseling initiative ensures that no one is left behind in our efforts to manage and control HIV.”
Dr. Animashaun called on employers to prioritize staff wellness and create healthier, more supportive workplaces.
She also praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his continued support of worker-focused and healthcare-driven programs in the state.
“LSACA is committed to reducing the spread of HIV, raising awareness, and supporting healthcare professionals and partners who work tirelessly in this space,” she added.
She encouraged all Lagosians to take advantage of free HIV testing and counseling services — not just on Workers’ Day, but all year round — as part of a broader commitment to healthier lives and communities.
