Epe Insights reports that the programme, held from January 19 to 23, 2026, trained 50 participants in transforming water hyacinth into market-ready products.

The initiative was implemented in partnership with Mitimeth and focused on turning the invasive aquatic plant into valuable resources while addressing environmental challenges on Lagos waterways.

Participants received hands-on training in harvesting, processing, and recycling water hyacinth, alongside lessons in safety practices, entrepreneurship, cooperative development, and sustainable environmental management.
