The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Administration, led by Executive Chairman Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has showcased a range of people-focused development initiatives at its Community Development Showcase and 2027 Budget Consultative Forum.
Epe Insights reports that the event, held at the Local Government Secretariat, Igando-Oloja, brought together community leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders and residents to review development interventions and contribute to priorities for the 2027 Budget.
Chairman Olowa used the occasion to highlight projects and programmes implemented by his administration across key sectors of community development.
The initiatives cover healthcare, education, security, youth empowerment, social welfare and digital governance.
Olowa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to responsive governance and development that addresses the needs of residents.
He also stressed the importance of transparency, inclusion and community participation in the administration’s development process.
According to the chairman, residents’ contributions remain important to the preparation of the 2027 Budget.
He noted that community input would help the local government identify priority areas and better align its programmes with the needs of residents.
A major highlight of the showcase was the Community Security and Intelligence Network (CSIN).
The initiative forms part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen community-level security and improve coordination in responding to local concerns.
The administration also commissioned the Desalu Primary Health Centre, expanding the healthcare infrastructure available to residents of the area.
The project was presented as part of Olowa’s administration’s efforts to improve access to primary healthcare services within Ibeju-Lekki.
Education also featured prominently at the event.
The administration highlighted interventions at Magbon-Alade Primary School and Mopo-Ijebu Primary School, reflecting its focus on improving facilities and creating better learning environments.
The presentation of student bursary awards was another education-focused intervention highlighted at the forum.
The bursary support is aimed at assisting students and reducing some of the financial challenges associated with pursuing their education.
Olowa’s administration also unveiled the Career Accelerator Programme (CAP) as part of its youth-focused initiatives.
The programme is designed to support young people with opportunities that can contribute to career development, skills acquisition and improved economic participation.
In the area of social welfare, the administration disbursed the 6th Batch of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme to beneficiaries.
The initiative provides direct financial support to selected beneficiaries and forms part of the administration’s social intervention efforts.
Digital governance was another major feature of the showcase.
The council unveiled the Automated Street Naming and Addressing Portal, a digital platform intended to support a more organised approach to street naming and addressing.
The administration also unveiled the upgraded Ibeju-Lekki Local Government website.
The digital initiatives are expected to improve access to information and create additional channels through which residents can interact with the local government.
For Olowa, the various initiatives represent an approach to governance that combines physical development with social and digital interventions.
The chairman’s emphasis on community participation also positioned the budget consultation as an avenue for residents to contribute directly to the development planning process.
The Community Development Showcase provided an opportunity for the administration to present its interventions while engaging stakeholders on areas requiring further attention.

The gathering attracted several notable stakeholders, including Alhaji Olabode Kashif Oyedele, Hon. Bayo Balogun, Hon. Abiola Okanlawon Olowu and Hon. Oladele Ajayi.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, stakeholders and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
The administration’s presentation covered initiatives across sectors that directly affect everyday life in Ibeju-Lekki.
From healthcare and education to security, youth development, social support and digital governance, the programmes reflected the broad areas identified by the administration as priorities.
As preparations for the 2027 Budget continue, Olowa’s administration is expected to consider contributions from residents and stakeholders in determining development priorities.
