Lagos Police have arrested a car snatcher, bankers, and 23 other suspects.

Epe Insights reports that the Lagos State Police Command has arrested 26 people in connection with murder, defilement, armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms, illicit drugs, and others in the last two weeks.

Four firearms, 21 live ammunition, six vehicles, one cutlass, phones, money, and illicit drugs were also recovered by the police.

The Lagos Police Command revealed that its operatives received calls on March 12 that a group of hoodlums usually dispossess passers-by of their valuables, along Alaba-Oro, Amukoko, under the pretence of street fighting, and would later go into hiding.

According to the Command, a discreet investigation was carried out to locate the hideout of the criminals upon receiving the information. Consequently, 19-year-old Rasaki Ibrahim, m’ a.k.a Ekute, and 28-year-old Okikiola Kazeem were arrested.

One cutlass, a small bag containing weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, and some hard drugs were recovered from them.

Lagos Police Command Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspects would be arraigned in court accordingly.

Hundeyin said: “On February 25, detectives of the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID) Panti began discreet investigation based on report received about the activities of a syndicate which specialised in robbing victims of their valuables such as money.
