In a move to strengthen data-driven governance and improve access to vital statistics, the Lagos State Government, in collaboration with the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, will today, Thursday, November 13, 2025, officially flag off the E-Birth Registration initiative in the area.

EpeInsights reports that the event, scheduled to hold at the Local Government Secretariat, Igando-Oloja, Ibeju-Lekki, by 2:00 p.m., marks a significant step toward enhancing the digitalization of birth records and ensuring every child in Lagos is properly documented from birth.

According to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the introduction of the E-Birth Registration system aligns with Lagos State’s vision of deploying technology to improve public service delivery and social planning.

The digital registration initiative will simplify birth documentation, reduce errors, and ensure real-time data capture — a critical foundation for effective healthcare planning, education, and child protection services.

Stakeholders from the health sector, civil registration agencies, and community development committees are expected to attend the flag-off ceremony.

The event reinforces Ibeju-Lekki’s commitment to promoting inclusive governance through innovation and collaboration with the Lagos State Government.
