Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has facilitated industrial training placements for 15 youths from Ibeju-Lekki through the Lagos State Cooperative College Skill-Up 1.0 Programme.
Epe Insights reports that the beneficiaries secured paid placement opportunities at the Lekki Free Trade Zone as part of the chairman’s youth empowerment and human capital development agenda.
The youths were trained under a skills acquisition initiative sponsored by the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government before receiving their official placement letters.
According to officials, the beneficiaries are expected to resume their industrial training programme at the Lekki Free Trade Zone this Friday.
The initiative forms part of Hon. Olowa’s SHIEELD Agenda aimed at expanding opportunities for young people through vocational training and professional development.
The chairman noted that preparing local youths for emerging opportunities within the rapidly developing Lekki corridor remains a priority of his administration.
He emphasized the importance of equipping young people with practical skills, workplace exposure, and capacity-building opportunities needed to compete in today’s economy.
Observers described the placement programme as a strategic move toward improving youth inclusion in the economic growth taking place across the Lekki axis.
The Lekki corridor has continued to attract major industrial and commercial investments, creating increasing demand for skilled manpower within the region.
