Health Outreach Boosts Malaria Prevention in Lekki

Lekki Local Council Development Area has commemorated the 2026 edition of World Malaria Day with a comprehensive health outreach focused on prevention, awareness, and community care.

The outreach attracted a large turnout, with over 350 residents benefiting from free and essential medical services provided on-site.

Healthcare services included vital checks, blood pressure monitoring, and laboratory tests such as RBS, RVS, HBsAg, and RDT.

Beneficiaries also received medical consultations, eye examinations, dental care, and access to pharmacy services.

Health officials emphasized that the programme extended beyond treatment to include education and preventive care.

Representing the council chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, the Secretary to the Local Government, Bukola Lawal, addressed participants during the event.

She reiterated the administration’s commitment to sustained healthcare delivery and malaria prevention initiatives.

Dr. Lawal also encouraged residents to utilise the Primary Health Centre in Akodo-Ise for continuous and accessible medical support.

The outreach featured the participation of key health stakeholders and institutional partners.

Among them were representatives of the World Health Organization, including Ngozi Onyejiaka.
