The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Thursday, 19 March, and Friday, 20 March 2026, as public holidays to mark Eid-el-Fitr.
Epe Insights reports that the statement was issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The government extended warm greetings and congratulations to Muslim faithful for successfully completing the holy month of fasting.
The announcement comes as Muslims across the country prepare to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The Minister urged Nigerians to embrace the virtues highlighted during Ramadan, including love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice, while also praying for national unity, peace, and prosperity.
